National Famers Market Week

Last week was national farmers market week . I visited the westside urban famers market . Its a little known gem of a market that is open every Sat from 8 am to noon . Its a mix of folks selling locally grown produce & baked goods from the back of pick-up trucks & car trunks . Its located on Bendix Drive about a block south of Lincolin Way West . This is a must visit market that has good food a great prices , and helps the local community .

Begun as an experiment in green urban development, the Urban Garden Market’s mission is to provide fresh, locally grown produce and prepared food products in a friendly, inviting market place. It is a collaborative effort between growers and community organizations and a unique economic and social tool to help achieve a wide variety of goals.
The Urban Garden Market will operate from mid-May through mid-October beginning at 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.
